Quality over quantity

A 4.0 GPA is not enough to be a Collegiate Tutor.
In addition to academic excellence, we make sure each tutor has excellent social and communication skills for explaining complex material.

“Do you work with fraternities and sororities?” 2018-02-07T17:12:14+00:00

We have three years of experience in providing academic assistance for greek organizations.  In fact, our first year of delivering tutors to Ole Miss KKG we raised their chapter GPA from a 2.9 to a 3.1 — a substantial increase being that KKG has 400+ members.

If your greek chapter is interested in hiring Collegiate Tutors, please contact [email protected] to get started.

“Which subjects do you have tutors in?” 2018-01-17T04:24:05+00:00

Collegiate Tutoring’s focus is primarily on the following math-based subjects:

Accounting, Business, Finance,
Calculus, Algebra, Statistics,
Physics and Chemistry

If you need a tutor in a course we don’t currently offer, please contact us and we will find you one as soon as possible.

“How does it work for Greeks?” 2018-02-07T17:13:42+00:00

Your academic chair will create an account and be given access to browse and request tutors and coordinate the day/time for a session.  Attached is a demo of how requesting tutors works on our platform.

For convenience, tutors will meet your members for group sessions at your chapter’s house.  This makes it easier to ensure your members will attend.  Sessions typically occur in the dining hall or one of your study rooms.

Our goal is to make sure 100% of your member’s tutoring needs are covered. Your academic chair will be given direct contact with customer support if any issues arise.

“Can I bring a friend to my session?” 2018-01-19T02:34:26+00:00

Collegiate Tutors are more than happy to accomodate for those seeking group tutoring. We offer discounts for group sessions equal to $10 off your course’s hourly rate. To receive the discount, all we ask is that you ensure that all attendees have created an account and added their payment method.

Also, be sure to check out our referral program where you can earn cash bonuses (via Venmo) for inviting your friends and classmates to join Collegiate Tutoring.

“What are your prices for Greek Chapters?” 2018-02-07T17:13:51+00:00

For Greek Chapters, we charge a flat rate of $50 per hour for all courses.  This means that the rate stays the same no matter how many members attend the session — so feel free to pack them in!  The rate stays the same whether two or twelve members show up.

Our tutors love helping groups.  In fact, we’ve even held Greek sessions with 15 attendees, bringing the cost of each member to less than $4 per hour.

“What are your prices?” 2018-01-19T02:36:20+00:00

Create an account to gain access to the price list for your campus. Or, feel free to Contact us to request pricing information.

On average, our price is $40 per hour.
Prices are based on level of difficulty and market demand for a course, so prices vary from campus to campus. We never want price to be the barrier for a student needing help, so be sure to check out our discount for group sessions. Simply bring a friend to your tutoring session and you’ll each receive $10 off the course’s hourly rate.

“How does payment work for Greek Chapters?” 2018-02-07T17:14:08+00:00

Here are examples of various ways we bill for tutoring hours from the chapters in which we currently send tutors.

Example 1:  We send your chapter an invoice at an agreed upon interval (weekly, biweekly, or monthly).  Your chapter pays the accumulated invoice amount once a month.  For this method, we require a $500 security deposit paid upfront. If you pay invoice amounts at biweekly instead of monthly intervals, the upfront security deposit drops to $250.

Example 2:  We securely store your chapter’s credit card on file.  Each week we would charge for the total hours tutored times the $50/flat rate (e.g — 3.5 hours = $175).  The day before we charge the card, we email your academics chair an invoice showing which courses we’re tutored, who tutored them, and for how many hours.

We accept whichever payment service your chapter normally uses for vendors, whether it be check, direct deposit, billpay, credit card, Venmo, etc. When it comes to the billing process, our goal is to be as simple as possible for your chapter’s executives. That way, we can focus on boosting your chapter’s GPA by sending you excellent tutors.

“How does payment work?” 2018-01-19T02:42:54+00:00

Some competing tutoring services force customers into expensive $1000+ upfront contracts to get started. At Collegiate Tutoring, clients never pay upfront. Instead, we’ve built our platform to allow clients to “pay as they go” — a much more affordable option.

Step 1
— Create your account and securely save a payment method.  This step is required before you can search for tutors.

Step 2 — Your payment method is automatically charged at the end of the session.

Once your session ends, the duration of the session is submitted by your tutor.  Our platform then multiplies the duration by the courses’ hourly rate and charges your payment method. For example, a 1.5 hour session @ $40/hour = $60 charged.

Importantly, payment is only processed if a client is 100% satisfied with their tutor. We accept all major credit and debit cards, but do not accept cash. Session duration submitted by tutors are actively monitored by management for integrity.

“Which campuses can I find a Collegiate Tutor?” 2018-02-07T16:57:03+00:00

Right now our established home base is Oxford, MS and Ole Miss.  During Spring 2017 we are launching at the University of Memphis and Mississippi State University.  After successful launches at those campuses, we will continue opening new campuses across the SEC and neighboring areas.

“Do you hire any non-tutoring positions?” 2018-01-17T05:25:16+00:00

We are always on the lookout for students interested in becoming Campus Representatives.  In this position you’ll help spread the word about our services and assist in the managerial side.  Reps earn a commission on all profits on their campus, paid weekly, as well as lucrative referral bonuses.

If you’re interested in getting involved with CollegiateTutoring.com in any way then don’t hesitate to send [email protected] your resume with a cover letter.

Some areas we’d love you to help cultivate:

  • social media / email marketing
  • educational video production
  • administrative / bookkeeping
  • expansion to new campuses

“My son/daughter needs a lot of help. Can I talk to someone?” 2018-01-17T05:07:13+00:00

We’ve worked with dozens of parents, so we understand that student stress reverberates back home, too. College is a large financial investment, so we like to say that hiring a Collegiate Tutor is like putting an insurance policy on your investment.

We would be happy to discuss how to address your child’s specific needs to ensure they are placed with the best available tutor. Contact us and we will reach out to you as soon as possible.

“How long have you been in business?” 2018-01-17T05:12:27+00:00

CollegiateTutoring.com has served Ole Miss students for three years. We have delivered over 2000 hours of tutoring to more than 400 satisfied students. After much tweaking, we’ve finally perfect our process. Starting in Spring 2017, we will begin expanding to additional college campuses in the Southeast.

Our vision is to continue moving forward until we’ve teamed up with thousands of tutors on hundreds of campuses, helping tens of thousands students grow academically.
